- What do you use to mark up steel and paint-work defects?
- Is it compatible with the coatings your subsequently apply?
- Is it available in light colours that can make it easier to hide the markings with lower opacity paints and light colours?
- Do you have the confidence that the product has been tested?
The Safinah Marker Pen has been specially selected for use as an inspection marker for all types of large steel fabrications such as Ships, and offshore structures. The Safinah Marker Pen provides a clear way of indicating where rework or other processes need to be carried out.
The Pen has been tested to ensure that it is compatible with coatings used in applications in the most sensitive areas:
“International Paint has thoroughly tested the marker pens for use with Interline 994, Interline 904 and Interline 704 and found no affect on performance.” Other paint companies are also currently assessing the pens.
Note: if the marker pens are used during surface preparation inspection, all traces must be removed (by blasting, grinding or solvent washing etc in accordance with the specification) prior to over-coating the bare steel with the first coat of the system.
