Safinah is a partner in the EU funded research project "Breakthrough in European Ship and Shipbuilding Technologies".

A joint research project has been set up by Safinah Ltd on how structural design can be improved to get optimum benefits from coatings.

As more windfarms are built the need to get the initial coating specification and application right as repairs at a later date for these remote and large structures is very costly.

Safinah set up and run many independent technical studies. A recent one on how and why paint formulations dry differently has been published by the Bristol Colloid Centre.

Safinah was audited by LRQA, in areas covering; "The provision of consultancy services for coating in the marine, protective, offshore and heavy duty markets" and gained accreditation to ISO9001:2000 in March 2007.

Safinah are partners in the MAPO project, part of European Commission's 6th Framework Programme.
